The Food Pantry exists to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community in a practical way. The food pantry meets on the fourth Thursday of every month to pack boxes for those in need. Distribution is on the fourth Saturday of every month. Doors open at 9am; following a morning devotion, food boxes for 1-5 member households are distributed.

Serve with us!

If you would like to volunteer to help pack boxes or distribute please contact the office for more information: (304) 438-6311

Over the centuries, shawls have come to symbolize shelter, peace, and spiritual sustenance. Since the inception of the Prayer Shawl Ministry in 1998, the members of this ecumenical organization have lovingly donated their time and talents by creating hand-knitted and crocheted shawls for those in need. What started as a grass-roots movement has quickly grown into an international cause, with countless numbers of shawls being given to grateful recipients around the globe.

The ministry’s message is simple, universal, and enduring. We have seen time and time again that the creation and presentation of a prayer shawl, like all acts of generosity, enriches the giver as well as the recipient.

First Baptist Church of Rainelle’s Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2009.  Since then we have given out over 300 shawls. We have given care bears (with crocheted prayers shawls) to the fire departments, police, and The Women’s Refuge Center to be given to children.  We have made prayer squares that were sent to the military overseas.

Our “Covered in Love” ladies would like to extend an invitation to attend their meetings. The group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 P.M. in the T&T room.  We hope to see you there!
